A South African National with a wealth of experience in the hospitality and tourism sector. Having held various positions in hotel operations, revenue management, business development, and e-commerce for both International Brands such as The Luxury Collection and Sheraton to Regional Brands such as Wotif.com, Phuket.com, and Bangkok.com, I am passionate about all things travel and tech-related.
Having relocated to Thailand in 2005, I switched to the online travel business in Southeast Asia in 2006, joining the online travel agent pioneer in Asia, Asia Web Direct, the then owner of Phuket.com and Bangkok.com Brands.
In 2010 I temporarily relocated to Cape Town, to set up the office and head up the development of Africa and Indian Ocean Islands as new markets for Australia’s Wotif Group, now owned and operated by Expedia Inc. before returning to Asia in 2012 to head up the Business Development Team for Web Connection with my business partners.
After spending 9 years building the Web Connection business, with the onslaught of Covid-19, the time was right for a move in a new direction (M.I.A.N.D) and Miand Asia was born.
Miand Asia, is a Digital Marketing and Revenue Optimisation Agency for Hotels.
Based in Thailand our philosophy is to take a hands-on approach and offer personalized advice and recommendations on marketing, revenue, and distribution strategies as well as sourcing and supporting "Best in Class" systems and tools that suit the ever-changing needs of your properties.
Outside of Thailand we work with a consortium of consultants across South East Asia helping partners navigate the new normals that were thrust upon us by Covid-19. Having a deep understanding of partners' online needs and how digital marketing can help them, we work closely with our hotel partners to increase their profit by providing a complete online marketing solution that drives additional business to their direct revenue channels. For some of our larger partners, we act as Owner Representatives and navigate the ever-changing conditions to ensure the best revenue outcomes for the hotel owner and the Local or International Brand under which they are marketed.
In addition, we work together with OTA's and closely manage our hotel partner's online marketing channels to achieve maximum benefit from the traffic generated across all platforms.
I presently hold the position of Director at SKÅL International with the Portfolio of Training and Education. My SKÅL journey includes serving as President for SKÅL International Thailand, President for SKÅL International Krabi, Vice President for SKÅL International Thailand, and Vice President for South East Asia at SKÅL International Asia.
